NEW BR= GHTON PARK BOARD <br />M=MUTES <br />AUGUST 2~ 1 9 8 9 _ <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by Chairman Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Johnson,. Kalina, Ocel, Rose, Seward, <br />Council Representative Gunderman, and Warren Olson <br />a representative for Pratt Homes <br />III. Minutes of .June 7, 1989 <br />MOTION BY ROSE, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO APPROVE THE JUNE 7, 1989 <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Gunderman stated there had been discussions and meetings <br />regarding the community center. <br />The City is considering funding the access to Long Lake Park <br />from Mississippi St. and Long Lake Road and Ramsey County to pay <br />the City back. The County cannot get funding for a few years. <br />The City would like to have that access soon. <br />Anderson commented that he has notified the Pike Lake residents <br />about the trail being considered at the August 8th Council <br />meeting and they can. make an appointment with the Engineering <br />Dept. if they would like to see the. plans. The City has <br />obtained the easement from the church. and the Highway Dept. is <br />sending a use approval. Engineering-says the trail looks <br />straight forward, there shouldn't be many difficult areas. <br />Seward said not even over the culvert? <br />Anderson apparently not - although he wouldn't be surprised if a <br />boardwalk would have to be put in. <br />Gunderman said a sidewalk is planned up Old 8 through "Old <br />Towne". Some streets will be renamed. <br />Ocel asked about the time frame for both the Pike Lake and the <br />Long Lake access via Old Hwy. 8. <br />Gunderman said work will be started this fa11.~ <br />Anderson said MNDOT will be redoing signals so it may be a mess <br />for a while. <br />Gunderman said the boat launch is good. <br />Anderson said he has received only a few minor complaints. <br />
