NEW BR= GHTON PARK BOARD <br />M=NUTES <br />OCTOBER ~ 5 ~ 1 9 8 $ <br />I. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Johnson at 7:30pm. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Johnson, Kalina, Ocel, Olson, Rose, <br />Seward, Van Hatten, Council Rep. Brandt. Also <br />present were area Pike Lake residents <br />Members absent: Eichers <br />III. Minutes of August 3, 1988 <br />MOTION BY ROSE, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO ACCEPT THE AUGUST 3, 1988 <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />The. church by Irondale High. School has applied for and been <br />approved for building additions for educational purposes. <br />The budget was adopted with a minimum increase. A few <br />additions were to civil defense for better sirens, expansion <br />of license bureau, and making part-time program supervisor <br />full time. <br />-The community survey was presented to the Council.. Responses <br />for facilities that provide services would be most important <br />to the Park Board. The Council has directed staff to find out <br />what is need in a community center. Funds for this <br />investigation will be provided. <br />The trunk Hwy. 96 study is in progress. New Brighton has only <br />a small segment. There are very many different views among <br />the different communities in regard to what they want to see. <br />Some want the area to be left country looking others want to <br />develop it. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />The Committee did not meet <br />C. Veterans Park Thank Yous <br />Anderson said St. John's had sent the City thank yous for <br />Veterans Park. <br />Anderson stated the gazebo at Veterans Park is up and done by <br />donations from the Lions Club. Just completed the bid process <br />for the shelter building and the play equipment will go in <br />early 1989. <br />
