Maurice Anderson September 30, 19BB <br />New Brighton ParKs and Recreation Dept. <br />1975 Siluer Lake Raad <br />New Brighton, MN 551.12 <br />Dear Maurie, <br />On Sunday, September 25th, the congregation of the United Church of <br />Christ in New Brighton held a special congregational meeting to consider <br />-a resolution authorizing the Trustees Board to conuey.to the City an <br />easement for walKway purposes along our southern property line. After <br />much discussion, and one amendnent, the Resolution was adopted. <br />The amendment mentioned abaue was prompted by concern. over the <br />possibility that the easrnent might someday be used far some purpose <br />o#her than as a walKway. The amendment was inserted. after paragraph. two <br />and reads as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton agrees that. the easement will be <br />solely for the purpose of construction and maintenance of said walKway <br />and that the easement will terminate if used by the City of New Brighton <br />.far any other purpose. <br />Other concerns which were raised were as follows: <br />- Seueral in the Congregation were concerned about the <br />proximity of the reconstructed driueway to the Church <br />building; specifically, the effect that the heavy school <br />bus traffic might have on the foundation of the building <br />and the effect that changing the water runoff pattern <br />might have on the water integrity of the lower level of <br />the Church. <br />- There was concern that snowmobiles might use the path and <br />the installation of posts was suggested to prevent it. <br />- Seueral were concerned about maintaining complete <br />se arat i on of traff i c f lyow on _t he ath from Church <br />P <br />~.._ _ _ _p ---- <br />arK'i np 1 at~-~a~rtit~~ir fivrtv~aY=~erf#-tt~`'ft c~o~ I"f way- su~e~s'i~ <br />that continous curbing is needed alon ali areas where <br />the path is adjacent to the parKing or driueway areas. <br />Please review the Resolution as amended and determine if it is <br />acceptable to the City. Also please respond to the other concerns <br />listed above.
