MINUTES <br /> New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br /> Regular Meeting—June 8, 2004 <br /> 7:00 a.m. <br /> Members/Liaisons Present: <br /> Mary Burg(7:10 am), Gene Delaune, Linda Harmon, Ken Johnson, Mark Nelson, Maxine <br /> Pierson, Gary Stang, Jim Witkowski. <br /> Members/Liaisons Absent: <br /> Bob Benke, Dennis Flahave, John Kauthold, Steve Larson. <br /> Staff Present: <br /> Matt Fulton, David Black. <br /> Call to Order <br /> Linda Harmon called the meeting to order at 7:05 a.m. ( 11111)1S1( <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> The minutes of May 11, 2004 were presented for sproval. ere was one minor correction <br /> suggested. With that change, all approved. <br /> Brighton Village Report <br /> Black reported that he and Fulto 1d me ''th hia Hable of Kraus-Anderson, which <br /> remains committed to the redev ent of e area. Snyder's is looking at a slightly smaller <br /> store, and wants to be locat d alon 'leer L e Road, which would require a new site plan. <br /> Other potential tenants arein approached. Johnson asked whether Kraus-Anderson was <br /> interested in selling th; sperty. ack ' a d that the company had always indicated that <br /> they are not intereste s. . ..une n ed that yder's is now out of bankruptcy proceedings, and <br /> therefore ' be a part oft ; s- • opment. Fulton mentioned that Lifetime Fitness had <br /> approache owner, but th- y would not be interested in a"big box" like that at the site. <br /> He also not d that Ris<dall Adve l still needs to find a place to move once their lease expires. <br /> Black indicated that he had calleisdall to suggest contacting Kraus-Anderson. <br /> Northwest Qu nt Report <br /> Co orate User lack reported that staff was continuing to work with Medtronic on various <br /> financial and non-financial issues. Financial matters were complicated by the legislature's <br /> inability to pass special legislation and funding bills. Fulton suggested that environmental <br /> concerns are the biggest obstacle to an agreement. <br /> Housing Agreement. Black reported that parties are still making good progress on the <br /> development agreement, and have targeted June 22nd for Council consideration. <br />
