Approved, Not A pp } <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> Regular Meeting—April 19, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Present: Commissioners Larry Baker, Karen Mann, Bruce Howard , Norm Schiferl, <br /> Tom O'Keefe, Jim O'Brien and Paul Zisla <br /> Also Present: Patrick Boylan, City Planner, Mary Burg, City Council, Matt Fulton, City <br /> Administrator, Grant Fernelius, Community Development Director, <br /> Jennifer Lavandowska, Office Support Staff <br /> • Agenda Review: No changes <br /> • Approval of Minutes: The approval of the March 15, 2005 minutes was tabled <br /> until the May 17, 2005 meeting. <br /> • Council Action: City Council Member, Mary Burg reported that several Council <br /> members and the Mayor attended a Fire Fighter Spouse Recognition dinner, it <br /> was a wonderful opportunity to thank all the spouses for their support. She also <br /> reported that some of the Commissioners and Council members attended Taxi <br /> 2000 in Fridley(a personal rail transportation system). The City hosted a <br /> Recognition Dinner for the Public Safety Volunteers. <br /> Public Hearing: SP 05-09 Special Use permit for a one-day car sales event at Main <br /> Street Village. <br /> The event is proposed to be held on May 21, 2005 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in the <br /> parking lost of Main Street Village. The applicant has conducted several such events in <br /> other communities and believes that at any one time, they anticipate no more than 100 <br /> individuals on the site. Greg Crandal, CEO for CU Companies, addressed the <br /> commissioners stating that eight dealers will be bringing cars to the parking lot the Friday <br /> night before the event and that there is the possibility of people driving by and looking at <br /> the cars. <br /> Motion by Schiferl, Second by O'Keefe to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> 6 Ayes, 0 Nays, MOTION CARRIED. <br /> Motion by Zisla, Second by Schiferl to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE <br /> ATTACHED RESOLUTION APPROVING SP05-09 subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 1. The event shall be held for one day only on May 21, 2005 and vehicle sales <br /> shall end at 4:30 PM. <br /> 2. For Sale vehicles shall be off site by no later than 6:30 PM on May 21st <br /> 3.
