Approved
Staff received an application to split a single family lot split that generated considerable
discussion about parcel design at the City Council. Concerns were raised about access to
the proposed parcels and the effects of parking on the surrounding neighborhood.
On July 12, 2005, the Council directed Staff to draft an amendment to the zoning code
that would help the City regulate lots. The goal of the Council is to provide clarity on
individual lot design in the regulations to avoid irregular lots in the R-1A, Single Family
Residential district.
The commissioners reviewed the text and generally found the proposal to be acceptable.
The Planning Commission direct Staff to report to the City Council, call for a public
hearing, and recommend that the City Council adopt the changes to the R-1A Zoning
District.
Announcements and Updates:
Mr. Boylan announced the upcoming MnAPA State Conference in Alexandria in
September. Stockyard Days August 7— 14th, raffle tickets are on sale at City Hall and at
Beisswenger's Hardware Store.
Motion by Zisla, Second by Mann to adjourn. 8:52 p.m.
Patrick Boylan
City Planner
I:\COMMISSIONS\PLANNING\Minutes\2005\7-19-05.doc 5
