<br />flection 1. There be ~d.hereby is granted to Northern States Power
<br />Comp8;J::ly, a Minnesota corpora ticin, its successors and asSigns, hereinafter
<br />referred to as "Co~" ,dJ..uoing the period of 20 years from, the date
<br />hereof, the right and priv!legeof constructing, operating, repairing, and
<br />maintaining, on, over, and across the streets, alleys, andpuhlic grounds
<br />of saidV111a.ge, an electric distribution system and electric t1,"allslldssion
<br />lines, including all poles~pole lines, and futur.es and appurtenances,
<br />usually, conveniently, or neeessarily used in connection therewith, for
<br />thepur,poseof transttd tt1ng and f\u:'nish1ng _e1.ectrlc energy for light, heat,
<br />power, and other .purposes forpubUc and privateue ;inandte saidVillsge
<br />and the inba.bi tants thereof, and others, and for the purpose of transmitting
<br />into and tb;roughsaid Vil1Agesuchelectric energy, provided that such
<br />electric Cl1atribution system and transmission lines sball be so located
<br />as in no way to interferewiththe,Safety and convenience of ordinary
<br />travel along and over sa1dstreets, alleys, and public grounds, and
<br />proVided that Company, in the construction, operation, repair, and main-
<br />tenance of'such poles, pole lines, and fixtures and appurtenances, shall
<br />be SUbJect to such reasonableregu1a.tions as -may be imposed b;ytbeVillage
<br />Council.

<br />Section 2 . The ra tea to be charged by the Co:mpany for the electri c
<br />energy eoldw1 thin said Villagesba.1lbe reasonable and sha.ll not exceed
<br />Com;pa.:nylS standard schedule of rates and minimum cbargeseff'ective for
<br />and in colllDIUni t1esof lilte size in adjoining tern tory which --are similarly
<br />served and situated.

<br />Section 3. There lealso granted to Company during the tem hereof
<br />permission a.ndautborlty to trim all trees and shrubS in the streets,
<br />alleys, and public grounds of said Village interferlngwi th the proper
<br />construction, operation, repair,a.nd maintenance of' any poles, pole
<br />lines, and fiXtures or appurtenances, installed in pursuance of the
<br />a.ut:bori ty hereby granted, provided that Company shallsa.ve said Village
<br />b.ar.Olless f'Z"om. -aJJy liability in thepre:mises.

<br />Section 4. Nothing in this Ordinance contained shall Oeconstru,ed
<br />as giving to CQmpa:ny any exclusive privileges in,on, over, or across
<br />the streets." alleys, or public grounds of said Village.

<br />Section 5. Company sb.all have full right and authority to assj,gn
<br />to a.nyperson, persons, firm orcorporational1 the rights conferred
<br />uponi t by this Ordinance, provided that the assignee of such rights,
<br />bya.ccepting such assignment, shall become subject to the terms and
<br />prcivis1.cms of this Ordinance.
