The garage addition to their home does
not encroach into either the front or side yard setbacks. Mr. Boylan reviewed the site
plan and stated that staff believes the application meets all the Special Use standards. He
has visited the site and believes this will not alter the character of the existing single
family residences around it.

The staff and the applicant were available for questions. A commissioner asked the
applicant how the roof design would be. Applicant explained the roof would be gabled.
Roof truss drawings would still need to be reviewed by staff prior to any final approval.

CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING.
Motion by O’Brien, seconded by Zisla to
5 Ayes, 0 Nays. He described another series
of public meetings that were not well attended. The project does not appear
controversial. There was a meeting with the City Council to bring them up to date. The
th
City Council will probably take action on it at their November 27 meeting and are
expected to have several questions and suggestions. Mr. O’Brien explained the design
phase will continue to evolve to meet the time table.

The issue will possibly come to the Planning Commission in January, determined by the
Council action in December. Mr. O’Brien explained they are working with the Fire
Department and the Police Department to meet their needs. Mr. Boylan mentioned the
site plans have been on display at City Hall. A question was asked regarding the R-1A vs
B-4 zoning. That issue is still to be determined.

ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m.

________________________________________________
Patrick Boylan, Intermediate City Planner
