<br />PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting November 18, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Commissioners Larry Baker, Jim O’Brien, Norm Schiferl, <br /> <br />Tom O’Keefe, Karen Mann, Jeff Schopf and Paul Zisla <br /> <br /> <br />Absent: <br />All present. <br /> <br />Also Present: <br />Patrick Boylan, City Planner , Anne Hoffman, City Council Member <br /> <br />? <br /> Council Action - <br /> Anne Hoffman, City Council Member, <br />reported on the following: <br />Last Council meeting was to involve the Brighton Village project. <br />This information was not ready, so this was continued until the <br />next meeting. <br />The City of New Brighton and the City of Arden Hills City Staffs <br />and City Councils got together recently. Council Member Hoffman <br />and Kevin Locke presented information to the Planning <br />Commission on some of the issues discussed, such as MN DOT <br />issues, traffic issues, NW Quadrant and Tcap. <br />Council Member Hoffman displayed maps for the Planning <br />Commissioners of the areas discussed. She also reported New <br />Brighton had made a presentation to the City of Arden Hills for <br />providing Police Services for Arden Hills. This is still in the <br />discussion stage. <br /> <br />? <br /> Approval of Minutes – <br />October 21, 2003 not available. <br /> <br />Agenda Review: <br />No changes <br /> <br />Public Hearing: VN03-02 & LP03-08 - Parking Setback Variance and Site Plan <br />Review – Norm Wells, Architect for Mark Beisswenger (cont. from 10-21-03 mtg). <br />Due to continuing challenges to assembling the site for the new store, a new site plan is <br />being prepared and has not been received at the time of this meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Baker, Second by O’Keefe, to continue this item until the December 16, 2003, <br />Planning Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. <br />7 Ayes, 0 Nays, <br /> <br />General Business: Zoning Text Amendment Review – <br />Continued review of proposed <br />text to amend the allowable commercial uses in the MX, Mixed Use Zone. <br />There was considerable discussion regarding the hardware store and how it differs from <br />I:\COMMISSIONS\PLANNING\Minutes\2005\2003\11-18-03.doc <br /> <br />
