Measure 4, “Construction site runoff control” calls for an
ordinance requiring implementation of proper erosion and sediment control on sites over
1 acre.

Before March 11, 2005, the City needs an ordinance for the sites greater than 1 acre but
smaller than 2.5 acres that the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) is inspecting. We
must either persuade RCWD to lower their limit to 1 acre or write our own.

No action is requested on this issue at this meeting. Mr. Boylan will be working with
Engineering Staff to craft an ordinance addressing erosion and sediment control
sometime in 2004. A more comprehensive review before the Planning Commission will
occur prior to examining any proposed text changes.

Adjournment:
8:25 p.m.

__________________________________________

Patrick Boylan, Intermediate City Planner

. .

I:\COMMISSIONS\PLANNING\Minutes\2005\2003\12-16-03.doc
