They will have an additional work session on Tuesday, June 27 to review
additional proposals and it will be on the Council agenda that evening, where they will
state which firm they have selected. The Council is looking for input from citizens on the
time change for their council meetings from 7:30 to 6:30. The Council approved a $20
million bond for the Northwest Quadrant.

O’Brien asked if the Planning Commission were to move it’s meeting time up to 6:30,
would it affect staff meetings with the Council. Doffing replied that it should not affect
those meetings, she just maybe coming to the Planning Commission meeting later.
Doffing inquired from staff it would be easier for them if the meeting was moved to 6:30.
Fernelius replied that either meeting time would work for staff.

SP2006-008, VN2006-001, LP2006-003 Site Plan Review including
Public Hearings:
Special Use Permits for Automotive Repair, Automotive Sales, Building Setback
Variance, and Parking Variance

This applicant was originally heard in October of 2003 for a Site Plan review, Special
Use Permit for automotive repair, a building setback variance, and a variance to the
required number of parking stalls. That original approval expired and the applicant re-
applied for a similar request in April of 2006. The Planning Commission then held a
public hearing on May 16, 2006 and tabled the application to allow the applicant to
redesign the site plan in an effort to create a more functional parking lot, whereby the
automotive sales Special Use Permit could be more realistically considered. The
applicant has submitted a revised plan.
I:\COMMISSIONS\PLANNING\Minutes\2006\06-20-2006.docPage 1 of 15
