<br /> <br />Approved <br />PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Regular Meeting – April 17, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Commissioners Larry Baker, Bruce Howard, Karen Mann, Tom O’Keefe, Norm Schiferl, <br /> and Paul Zisla. <br /> <br />Absent: <br />Jim O’Brien <br /> <br />Also Present: <br />Mayor Steve Larson, Grant Fernelius, Community Development Director and Janice Gundlach, <br />City Planner. <br /> <br />Agenda Review: <br />Agenda approved. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: The March 20, 2007 minutes were approved. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> Mayor Larson announced that the Council has tabled the Cheetah application due to park <br />dedication uncertainties. The Council hopes to have resolution on the matter for the May 8 meeting. The <br />Council also had their Team Building/Goal Setting retreat and had good results. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Hearings: <br /> PUD2007-002, LP2007-002, SP2007-002 Redevelopment of Brighton Village with a 43,000 <br /> <br /> s.f. LA Fitness Center & 25,400 s.f. of Retail Uses in two buildings. <br /> <br /> <br />Gundlach announced that staff is working on this site plan; however has discovered several issues that could <br />not be resolved before this meeting. Since the public hearing notification had already gone out staff wanted to <br />give any citizens an opportunity to speak if they are unable attend the next public hearing. Kraus Anderson has <br />st <br />requested a special meeting to be held on May 1 to consider this application as there is a time sensitive <br />th <br />schedule with one of their proposed tenants. They would like to have an approval by the Council at the May 8 <br />meeting. Schiferl stated that he may not be able to make that meeting, however the rest of the Commission <br />stated that they would be able to attend. Mike Korsh, Kraus Anderson Company, stated they appreciate the <br />Commission’s willingness to get this project moving forward. <br /> <br />PUD2007-002, LP2007-002, SP2007-002 <br />Motion by Baker, second by O’Keefe to <br />CONTINUETHE PUBLIC <br />ST <br />M1. <br /> <br />HEARING TO AY <br /> <br />M. <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />OTION APPROVED <br /> <br />st <br />It was decided that the May 1 special meeting will begin at 7 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Hearing: <br />SP2007-001, LP2007-002 Site Plan Review and Special Use Permit to Allow Construction of <br /> an Outdoor Dining Patio at the North End of the Existing Champp’s Restaurant. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting a Site Plan Review and a Special Use Permit to permit construction of an outdoor <br />dining patio to the north end of the existing Champp’s Restaurant. The current parking at the north end of the <br />building would be eliminated to accommodate the patio and the remaining area would be grassed and <br />landscaped out to Palmer Drive.
