Anthony Village Lions Club
donation of $450.00 to the New Brighton/St. Anthony aquatic program.

Legislative History:
Not Applicable.

Financial Impact:
The money will be used to purchase one pool platform for the joint New Brighton/St. Anthony
aquatic program.

Explanation:
The New Brighton/St. Anthony Aquatics program strives to enhance the quality oflife for its
participants. By providing educational aquatic programs we hold a commitment to the
communities to ensuring the best possible safety education programs in and around the water.
We are thrilled that our Leam-to-Swim program teaches over 1800 students each year.

The Aquatics staff does its best to cater to the different ages and levels of students that take
advantage of our aquatics programs. The pool facilities that we utilize are not accommodating
for our younger participants. The pools do not have an area where all of the students can reach
the bottom. As a result, about one half of our students do not have the optimal experience that
we strive to give. An adjustable training platform gives students under 5 feet tall a safe learning
environment.

Costs and Funding:
Not applicable.

1:\COUNCILIREPORTS\2007\Parks and RecreationlDonationfromStALions_doc
