I RESOLUTION NO. <br /> ( 07-060 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> a <br /> I~ <br /> 4 <br /> I~ <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A <br /> I EASE EXTENSION WITH THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE <br /> 4 <br /> i <br /> E IT RESOLVED by the City Council (the "Council") of the City of New Brighton, <br /> Minne ota (the "City'") as follows: <br /> ection 1. Recitals. <br /> .01 The City entered into a Letter of Understanding with the United States Postal <br /> Servi ("USPS") regarding payment of relocation expenses and rent differential in <br /> corm tion with the relocation of the USPS from its current site at 1255 Old Highway 8 in <br /> the N Quadrant; <br /> 1 .02 The City is now in title to the USPS's current site and is now the landlord <br /> i <br /> under# he USPS's lease, which expires on June 30, 2007. <br /> <br /> .03 The USPS has requested that the City agree to extend its lease for an <br /> additi al two (2) months to give the City and the USPS time to negotiate a definitive <br /> Reloc tion Agreement. <br /> r <br /> rt? <br /> 11.04 It has been proposed that the City adopt the form of resolution ("Resolution") <br /> attacf d as Exhibit A and enter into a Lease Amendment/Lease Extension ("Lease <br /> Exten ion") with USPS in substantially the form attached as Exhibit B. <br /> Section 2. Findings. <br /> .01 The Council hereby finds that the proposed Lease Extension promotes the <br /> objet i es outlined in its Restated Development Program established pursuant to <br /> Minn ota Statutes, Sections 469.124 to 469.134, as amended. <br /> i~ <br /> 112.02 The Council hereby finds that the USPS's current site is located in an area <br /> which the Council is redeveloping as described in the Tax Increment Financing Plan for 1 <br /> Tax I rement Financing District No. 32 as approved by the Council. <br /> i <br /> <br /> ifp <br /> I1 <br /> ii <br /> 'i <br /> if
