The final plat for Long Lake Landing, the site plan for Champps outdoor
~tio and the site plan for Brighton Village were approved. The construction of two buildings for Cheetah
.ecision was approved and the park dedication was worked out with an agreement for both parties,

Public Hearings: SP2007-004 Special Use Permit to allow construction of an equipment shelter & antennas for
Verizon Wireless

The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit to install telecommunication equipment, including an
equipment shelter measuring 12' x 20' and additional antennas, for use by Verizon Wireless at the water tower
property located at 700 Silver Lake Road (also known at 675 Forest Dale Road). The need for an additional
equipment shelter is due to Verizon Wireless buying out an existing antenna user. In addition, Verizon
Wireless would install 8 new antennas (4, 8 foot in height; and 4,4 feet in height) on the water tower.

In February and July of 1996 the City approved a Special Use Permit to allow telecommunications equipment
on the site. The February 1996 approval was for American Portable Telecom, which has subsequently been
bought out by T-Mobile. Antenna and an equipment shelter currently exist on this site for T-Mobile. The July
1996 approval was for Nextel, which also have antenna and an equipment shelter on site. However, staff was
not able to locate any specific Special Use Permit approvals for Qwest, which is the existing antenna user
Verizon is buying out. As a result, Verizon Wireless must obtain a Special Use Permit.

Dave Fischer, Buell Consulting for Verizon Wireless, stated that the dimensions of the equipment shelter would
be 13' 4" x 20, which is an addition of 1.4 feet. This was presented to the Public Works Director who approved
the change. Gundlach replied the structure would still be within the setback guidelines and staff has no issues
8th the change of building size. Fischer reported that Verizon Wireless acquired Qwests' Wireless lease and
~ll be replacing the current antennas with eight panel antennas and the equipment shelter.

'''<Page 1 00
