I TO <br /> PROJECT 07-3, OLD HIGHWAY 8 NW RECONSTRUCTION <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Ca j,V <br /> <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: (-,1 <br /> No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br /> <br /> Recommendation: To approve Change der No. 1 to Project 07-3, Old Highway 8 NW <br /> Reconstruction. <br /> <br /> Legislative History: On June 12, 2007, the City Council awarded a contract to North Pine <br /> Aggregate, Inc. for Project 07-3, the reconstruction of Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br /> Financial Impact: The total amount of Change Order No. 1 is $3,719.50. Please refer to the <br /> attached. Change Order No. 1 for details. <br /> Explanation: A portion of the storm water run-off from Old Highway 8 NW drains to a storm <br /> water pond which drains to an existing drainage ditch in the 1694 right-of-way. A drainage <br /> permit from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) is required for any storm <br /> sewer work being done in and around their right-of-way. MNDOT has approved the City's <br /> permit application to work within the right-of-way with the condition that three items relating to <br /> the work be added to the contract. The items include an upgrade in the type of erosion control <br /> blanket to be used used, the addition of a culvert marker locating the end of the new storm sewer <br /> pipe, and an item for replacing the fencing to be removed with new chain link fence. <br /> <br /> Costs and Funding: The items in Change Order No. 1 are storm water related and will be paid <br /> for by Municipal State Aid funds and the City's Storm Water Improvement Fund. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Grant Wyt els, P.F. <br /> Director of Public Work <br /> <br /> Attachments <br />
