Page 4 - July 10, 2007 New Brighton Council Minutes <br />expressed vexation with the settlement and how the Post Office has worked with <br />t*ity, but will support the final proposal. <br />Council Member Hoffman added that she agrees with all the statements made by <br />Council and inquired what the City's liability will be if the USPS decides not to <br />relocate within the City. Jim Casterly replied that the agreement contains a <br />provision if the Post Office chooses not to relocate within the City; the City will not <br />have to pay any relocation or rent differential payments. <br />Council Member Bauman stated that while the agreement is within the proposed' <br />budget, she feels that the City does not have the money, since the development is <br />over budget. Council Member Doffing replied the entire development is over <br />budget; however the USPS settlement is within the planned budget <br />Motion by Councilmember Hoffman seconded by Councilmember Burg to waive <br />the reading and adopt the Resolution to Relocation Agreement with the U.S. Postal <br />Service. <br />4 Ayes -1 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Ayes - Mayor Larson, Council Member Burg, Doffing, Hoffman <br />Nays - Council Member Bauman <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements, and Updates <br />City Manager, Dean Lotter, introduced Schawn Johnson as the new Assistant to the City <br />Manager, who joins the City from Arden Hills. Mr. Johnson stated that he is excited to <br />join the City and looks forward to working with staff and Council. <br />Mr. Lotter announced that there will be Northwest Quadrant Work Session held on <br />Thursday, July 26''' at the Family Service Center. <br />Council Member Gina Bauman - Public Safety Commission <br />Council Member Bauman encouraged the City's residents to participate in National <br />Night Out, which will, be held on August 7`". She added that Project Life Saver was <br />featured on Channel's 5 and 11. <br />Council Member Marv Burg- Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />Council Member Burg reported that the Parks, Recreation, and Environmental <br />Commission do not meet during the month of July and welcomed Lisa Harreld to the <br />Commission. She congratulated staff on coming in under budget by roughly <br />$500,000.00, by using thoughtful spending practices. <br />0 <br />Council Member Sharon Doffing - Planning Commission <br />Council Member Doffing congratulated staff on coming in $520,000.00 under budget
