City of New Brighton <br />State of Minnesota <br />Ordinance No. 748 <br />An Ordinance Amending <br />The New Brighton Zoning Code By Adding New Article 6 <br />City Council of the City of New Brighton ordains that the New Brighton Zoning Code is amended by <br />Article b as follows: <br />Article 6. <br />NWQ Northwest Quadrant District <br />6-680. Intent <br />purpose of the NWQ Northwest Quadrant District is to provide an area for an intensely developed <br />.d use center that will be a vibrant and active place where people can live, work, shop, play and be <br />wined. The mixture of land uses and design specifications in this ordinance are designed to implement <br />principles and guidelines established in the 1999 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan and the Northwest <br />lrant Framework Plan and Design Guidelines, including the placement of buildings, streets, parking <br />>, sidewalks, and open space. <br />6-690. Permitted Uses. <br />T following uses are permitted within the NWQ Distxict but only if designated within the Building Type <br />in is article: <br />(l~ ~ Residential Uses <br />A. Multi-family residential dwellings, as regulated by Building Types in this article. <br />B. Higher density residential multi-family and attached single family uses located on the same site or <br />within the same building as commercial. or office, as regulated by Building Types in this article. <br />Commercial Uses <br />unercial uses are divided into two groups, those allowed on the street level of the Al Building Type <br />those allowed on upper floors of the Al or on any floor of the A2 Building Type, as defined in this <br />A. Permitted Uses allowed on street level in the Al Building Type, if less than 10,000 square feet in <br />area: <br />1. Sale and manufacture of baked goods; the sale of confectionery, dairy products, delicatessen, <br />fruits, vegetables, groceries and meats in permanent buildings only. <br />2. The sale of books, magazines, newspapers, cigars, drugs, flowers, gifts, music, photographic <br />goods, sporting goods, and stationery. <br />3. Restaurants, cafeterias, coffee houses, chocolate houses, juice bars, ice cream shops, and <br />similar uses offering food or drink. <br />
