Flahave asked if the site is still office and warehouse. Black replied the <br /> building will be owned by Ameriprise; the financial planners need to store their records on site for seven years. <br /> The new layout of the building has office on the first floor and storage on the second floor. <br /> <br /> Ryan Companies Office/Showroom (P.O. Carrier Annex) <br /> Black announced that the final approvals to relocate and purchase the post office will be going before Council <br /> this evening. The next step is to negotiate the leases for the retail and carrier annex sites. The warehouse <br /> addition for Dalco has not begun yet, since it will be constructed by Ryan Companies at the same time as the <br /> carrier annex building. <br /> <br /> Railroad Wye and Team Track <br /> Fernelius announced that the agreement with Estes will go before the Council on July 24`h to purchase the <br /> required land for construction of the wye. Staff does not want to close on the purchase of the property without <br /> an agreement with the railroad; there is a provision in the agreement that states the City can withdraw its <br /> proposal for purchase anytime before August 315`. Negotiations with the railroad have been difficult, since they <br /> have continued to add demands. Staff will be approaching the other railroads affected by the wye and hope to <br /> gain some leverage through those companies. The wye began as a railroad project about ten years ago and fell <br /> apart because the real estate was not available. Fernelius added that Minnesota Commercial was under the <br /> ression that the Butcher's Spur was to be relocated to the Belair site and then the City rejected the proposal. <br /> key were assuming that the City was not working with them; at the meeting recently this situation was <br /> clarified. <br /> <br /> Witkowski asked whether there is a timeline for when the Federal grant must be used. Fernelius replied that it <br /> must be used by 2010. <br /> <br /> <br /> Chamber of Commerce Report <br /> Witkowski reported that the Chamber will be holding its annual Summer Picnic on 'Thursday, July 19 at 11:30 <br /> am; the cost is $5.00 per person. He added that they have begun planning the fall golf outing, which is a <br /> relaxed, fun event. The Chamber has a new website and gaming has ceased at Jake's. <br /> <br /> <br /> Business Council <br /> Black announced that the next Business Council meeting will be held on July 31 at 7:30 am, at the Family <br /> Service Center. Kaufhold suggested that staff look into holding the meetings at a local business, which could <br /> include a tour.
