Jacobson, Director of Public <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve the Resolution Accepting a Donation from Long Lake Improvement Association <br />Legislative History: <br />The Long Lake Improvement Association (LLIA) has supplied financial support for the Long <br />Lake Boat Launch Monitor/Water Patrol program for three years. In 2005, LLIA donated $2,500 <br />to the City of New Brighton to help offset costs related to the monitoring/patrol program which <br />operated holidays and weekends from Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend. In <br />2006, LLIA donated $3,500 to the City of New Brighton for the same services. Mr. Leon Kline <br />of LLIA has indicated that the group is continuing to work on implementing a special taxing <br />district to pay for the costs of this program in future years. <br />Financial Impact: <br />Revenue of $3,000 will be received to offset the program costs. <br />Explanation: <br />In 2007, LLIA committed to donating $3,000 to the City of New Brighton for the boat <br />launch/water patrol services.
