Date May 14,. 1979 _
Page 1
TO: Mayor Jim Senden & the New Brighton City Council
We, the undersigned, request that the Engineers Office include in their
feasibility study, the return to the original plan for the 11th Avenue
connecting road. That proposal stated that 10th Street,East of Ilth
Avenue would be blocked off from the present intersection with llth Avenue.
Access would then be regained by the rectangular connecting road with
11th Avenue, and 11th Avenue mould be reconstructed from 10th Street to
8th Street, both 8th Street and 10th-Street being access streets to the
densely populated Polynesian Villages to the West. We, the undersigned..
feel that this would take care of the traffic flow with the least amount
of increased traffic onto the residential streets in the area, especially,
both, 9th, and th Avenues. If in the future, property owners who have
land in the area East of 11th Avenue, 'hest of 8th Avenue, South of 14th
Street and North of 8th Street, wish to develope their property, we feel
a system of cul-de-sacs,, could be designed which would allow them access
to 10th'Street without connection to the residential avenues south of
8th Street. We feel a consideration also should be the cost factor. The
estimated cost of returning to the original plan would be much less than
for any other alternative proposal, y?y?v•
V y ?tYY.?SCV 1LXy,L.?n?'X'??K?N R'lC
T?7?CSf'h?K? ss- If X mac' n
?s'i rd 6d,
%
74

Uu
X,
r-7 r?
v
N O
