COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to statutory requirement, the Council of the City of New <br />Brighton met as a Board of Canvass November 8, 1978 at 5:30 p.m. to <br />cover the results of the November 7, 1978 General Election as it pertained <br />to the City question on the ballot "Shall special on-sale license be <br />granted for the sale of intoxicating liquor on Sundays in the City of <br />New Brighton?" <br />Present: Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers, Bob Benke, <br />Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Fritz Werdouschegg <br />Absent: None <br />Also <br />Present: Vernon C. Pederson, City Manager <br />A canvass of the 6 precincts within the City indicated the following: <br />Precinct Yes No <br />1 280 202 <br />2 443 463 <br />3 703 507 <br />4 452 360 <br />5 462 390 <br />6 460 369 <br />Total 2,800 2,291 <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to receive letter from the <br />City Attorney. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist that 2,800 Yes votes <br />and 2,291 No votes were cast at the November 7, 1978 General Election <br />on the City question and that the question passed. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to adjourn <br />at 6:15 p.m. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />ATTEST: <br />Vernon C.
