COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New <br />Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, January 23, 1979 at <br />7:35 p.m., in the municipal building, 803 5th Avenue NW, <br />New Brighton, Minnesota. <br />Present: Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers Bob Benke, <br />Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Fritz Werdouschegg <br />Absent: None <br />Also Vernon C. Pederson, City Manager/Clerk; <br />Present: Les Proper, Director of Public Works; <br />James F. Winkels, Director of Community Development; <br />Donald L. Lais,City Attorney <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist to <br />approve the minutes of the meeting of January 9, 1979 <br />as presented. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Special Order of Business <br />Victor Brink, president of Basic Industries, Inc., <br />presented a check for $2,000 to the City of New Brighton <br />to be used for the purchase of some needed item for <br />park or playground. <br />Mayor Senden thanked Mr. Brink for his generous donation <br />and said the Park Board would be.notified of Mr. Brink's <br />recommendation. <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Janecek to defer <br />appointment of a health officer and directed staff <br />to study the ordinances and laws in regard to health <br />board and to report to the council. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Consent Agenda <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Werdouschegg to <br />approve the following licenses: <br />Universal Sign Company Sign Erection <br />Model Construction General <br />Assessment division No. 54065 RESOLUTIOt <br />Adopt RESOLUTION REFERRING PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT NO.2155 <br />79-9 TO DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR STUDY AND REPORT <br />Approve consolidated fund vouchers 29,101 thru 29,162 <br />52,732 thru 52,807 <br />Liquor fund vouchers 10,748 thru 10,783 <br />5 ayes 0 nayes- carried
