Offer tax incentives so that industry might consider internal financing to redevelop. 3. I would like to see the few roads we have from the freeways made to nice looking 4'lane roads. Businesses should help the property owners help pay for this. We should try and get new businesses to move into the many vacant properties we have now, rather than move people out and create more vacant lots. Once the New Brighton area becomes more crowded the older businesses could be phased out. Miscellaneous Comments i`. So as not to place any burden on the taxpayer. 2. Not been located here long enough to be informed or have opinions. We know nothing about any redevelopment plan. 3. Not prepared to answer this question until further study has been done. With a different approach to the downtown area there may not be a need for a financing plan. 4. How can I honestly propose an alternative financing plan for a project to which I am opposed? I am not thoroughly convinced that tax increment financing would produce the revenues necessary for the project, thus throwing an additional tax burden on the city residents and businesses. 5. This is a dreamer's plan - a very expensive Shangri-La with the businessmen picking up a monumental part of it - the rest will fall upon the homwowner - all will pay!
