Council Proceedings
City of New Brighton
March 22, 1977
City Attorney stated hearing was properly
City Planner reviewed the planning report
planning Commission recommendations.
Mayor Bromander directed, with consent of
that letter from Vincent S. Dahle, dated
called.
and
council,
Feb. 17, 1977 be received and placed in the minutes.
Mr. Dahle reviewed the purposes for his writing of
the letter.
Councilman Werdouschegg inquired as to whether
Mr. Dahle owned lots north of the proposed
subdivision.
Mr. Dahle stated he owned lots from middle of
lot 5 to the middle of lot 7, Block 1.
CouncilmanHardtinquired as to the problem with
double frontage lots, butt_ lots and outlots.
The planner responded that there appeared to be
three alternatives regarding the outlots:
1. The lot east of the outlot could be
extended westward to Silver Lake Road,
thereby the maintenance responsibility of
the outlot would be .to the property;
2. The outlot could be deeded to the City and the
City would have maintenance responsibilities;
3. They could be handled by means of covenants or
deeds restrictions through the homeowners
association similar to the procedure for open
space in PRDs.
Councilman Senden inquired as to why lot 2, block 2 was
considered a butt lot.
The Planner stated it was a buttlot because it was
located between two corner lots and a front yard could be
adjacent to neighboring rear yards and side yards.
Vince Dahle, applicant, stated he would like to
see the subdivision reviewed on its merits even
though it was not his preferred alternative for use
of the property. He stated that he would like the City to
pursue proposal acquisition of the golf course but
wanted the plat as a backup should acquisition not occur.
He stated he did not want this area to be a candidate for a
low income housing project. He noted that while there were
problems with the plat, he felt this current plat resolved
the objections of the Planning Commission two years ago, but
that he agreed> -there were still problems that would have
to be worked out.
PL -109
Brightwood
Hills
8:00 to
9:02
3.
