September 11, 2007- Page 4 <br />City planner_jamce Gundlach explained this item was presented at the August 28`h council <br />meeting action was tabled because of delay in preparation of legal description. Pulled fromagenda <br />Commission Liaison Re orts Announcements and U dates: <br />Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported a Retirement Party for Mark Frieden is planned for <br />Wednesday September 12th, at 6:00 prn at Moe's Restaurant in Mounds View. <br />Councilmember Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman expressed her appreciation for the support of Mark <br />Freiden's peers; noting 19 firefighters attending the Council meeting. Also <br />mentioned was the recent drowning on Long Lake, condolences were expressed to <br />the family of the victim. <br />Councilmember Doffing <br />Councilmember Doffing suggested the City look into the possibility of obtaining a <br />grant for the use of canine units in the Public Safety Department. It was suggested <br />that the City look at the idea of community training in water safety as a response to <br />the recent drownings in the City. Traffic School was attended. <br />Councilmember Bur>; <br />Councilmember Burg attended the Parks, Recreation and Environmental; <br />Commission meeting. A reminder was given to residents about the Trails <br />Committee. Another committee is being formed for lifelong recreation. The <br />Academy of Bioscience has begun, and all is going very well. The next Parks, <br />Recreation and Environmental commission meeting will travel to City parks, <br />ending at the Hansen Park Neighborhood Center. <br />Councilmember Hoffman <br />Councilmember Hoffman was unable to attend the EDC meeting.
