Y
Page 2
The Bus Service Expansion Program adopted by the 1974 Minnesota Legis-
lature called for the development of such a park -ride program. Recom-
mendations for park -ride lot locations have been made in recent planning
studies.
Park -ride facilities being considered in your area are shown on the
enclosed maps. A park -ride facility program has been submitted for
Federal funding assistance, and we are optimistic that a modest start in
providing such facilities can begin in 1977. The exact locations remain
to be determined.
The MTC and Mn/DOT wish to develop the park -ride program in conjunction
with local officials in preparing to serve all of the transportation
needs of the area. We therefore request your comments, cooperation and
assistance in the further development of the park -ride sites considered
for your area.
Questions or comments can be referred to Mr. David R. Jessup, Metropolitan
Transit Commission, Phone 227-7343; or the Public Transportation Section,
Mn/DOT, Phone 296-5975.
We will be in contact with you as our studies progress during early
1977. We look forward to working with you as this program develops.
Sincerely,
Doug K4t'_
e , Chairman Foy Jim Harrington, Commissioner
Metropol tan Transit Commission Minnesota Department of Transportation
lad
Enclosure
