... ....,.... November 29, 1976
f~ECEIVED
DE.C 1 1976 Michael Grimshaw
1262 Tmperial Lane
ClIY 0~ NEy"d BRIGNT0;1 New Brighton
New Brighton City Council;
I cannot attend the Improvement Hearing in person due to the fact
will be working the evening of December 2, so I am writing to you
in regard to Improvement 77-4, specifically bituminous overlay to
Imperial Lane and Continental Drive. I would like to state that
I favor the improvement to the above two streets, it is the area
to be assessed that I question. I do not feel that it is fair to
assess only the landowners that abutt the above streets. The above
two streets are feeder streets for all the residents of the Apache
Hills area.entering from Foss Road or County Road D with the excep-
tion of McCallum Drive which was resurfaced last year and l5th Ave.
S,j~l. which is scheduled to be resurfaced in the near future. The
Tmperial Lane - Continental Drive is also used extensively by the
residents of the Lakeside Trailer Court as a means of reaching
County Road D. I feel that improvements to the streets of New
Brighton are needed to maintain there high quality buT I feel the
above situation is an example of why the New Brighton City Council
should give some consideration to changing the assessment plan to
some type of area assessment as it would be more equitable to asse-
ss the entire area instead of dust the abutting landowners.
Thank you,
Michael Grimshaw
l:
