October 21, 1976 <br />TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Council of the <br />City of New Brighton <br />FROM: Barry P. Johnson, Executive Director - New Brighton Housing <br />and Redevelopment Authority <br />RE: City Owned i Lot - 5th Street NW <br />The City of New Brighton owns the north one-half of <br />Lot 1, Block 9, First Addition to New Brighton. This <br />20' x170' parcel is located on the south side of 5th Street NW <br />and exists as an indentation into the property recently <br />acquired by the New Brighton Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority. <br />At its October 20 meeting, the HRA adopted the following <br />motion: <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by Rebelein, to <br />request the City of New Brighton to deed <br />the north one-half of Lot 1, Block 9, First <br />Addition to New Brighton, to the New Brighton <br />Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />As far as we can determine, this property is currently <br />performing no function and has no value to the City. We <br />would note, however, that there is a storm sewer along the <br />north line of the HRA property and that part of that storm <br />sewer does passs through this one-half lot. There is no <br />easement for this storm sewer and it might be desirable for <br />the City to acquire such an easement from the HRA at this time. <br />The HRA has not been made aware of the need for this <br />easement but there should be no problem in granting it as <br />it would not interfere with the use of the property. <br />BPJ:bj <br />Barry P Johnso , Executive Director <br />New Brighton Housing & Redevelopment <br />Authority <br />
