Jacobson, Director of Public <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report �� Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Acknowledge the Oath of Office to Officer Benjamin DeBoer as administered by Deputy City <br />Clerk Karen Halley. <br />Legislative History: <br />Officer DeBoer is the third Police Officer to receive the Oath of Office in front of the City <br />Council. <br />Financial Impact: <br />N/A <br />Explanation: <br />Police Officers in the City of New Brighton each receive the Oath of Office as they begin their <br />careers. This Oath of Office will be administered by the Deputy City Clerk Ms. Karen Halley <br />for Police Officer Benjamin DeBoer. Officer DeBoer began his duties as a Police Officer for <br />New Brighton on October 30, 2007 and is currently in the field training process. Officer DeBoer <br />graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer <br />DeBoer was an all conference and all state honorable mention wrestler in high school. He served <br />as a Police Reserve Officer for the City of New Brighton, and, has followed in his brother <br />Matthew's footsteps as a Police Officer for the City of New Brighton. We thank Officer <br />DeBoer's family including his wife Nicole and his parents Michael and Terri DeBoer for yet <br />another DeBoer joining our organization.
