f NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION ' ~ MINUTES ,~ October 3, 2007 the city that works for you Park Tour - 4:30 pm Meeting Held at the Hansen Park Neighborhood Center - 7:15 p.m. I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Chair Frischman at 7:15 p.m. II. Roll Call Present: Commissioners Budzynski, Frischman, Harreld, Heinrich, Meyer, Norton, Samuelson, Council Liaison Mary Burg, Director of Parks and Recreation Sandy Breuer, Office Assistant Jodelle Olson Also Present: Parks Maintenance Manager, Chris Wolla (present for the park tour) and Recreation Supervisor, Cindy Tranby who gave a power point presentation during the meeting. Absent: Tom Trevorrow III. Minutes of September 5, 2007 MOTION BY BUDZYNSKI, SECONDED BY MEYER, TO APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 5, 2007 MIl~TUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report -Council Member Burg Council Member Burg stated the Council has been working hazd with the hotel that is interested in coming to New Brighton. There will be a special meeting tomorrow night with Transoma (a medical device company) to iron out some details. The Mayor was in Texas last weekend. He was invited by the State of Texas, League of Cities to present the program he has shared with other states and the National League of Cities on our Poly Partners program. Many questions were directed to the Mayor regazding New Brighton. It was obvious there was a lot of interest in what was happening in New Brighton. People have been really impressed with what we have accomplished in New Brighton. There was a retirement party for along-time City employee, Al Bauer. There was not a quorum at the last Council meeting so business could not be conducted. Only Ann Hoffman notified them of her absence, so it was not expected. V. Public Hearing A. None scheduled
