<br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 07-116 <br /> ,i <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> j CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> F` <br /> RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID FOR CITY PROJECT 07-12, NORTHWEST <br /> QUADRANT PHASE 2 DEMOLITION, SOIL CORRECTION AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION IMPROVEMENTS <br /> i~ <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement in the New Brighton Bulletin and in the Construction <br /> Bulletin, bids for the above mentioned improvements were received, opened, and read aloud by the <br /> City Administration at 10:00 a.m., October 3, 2007, complying with the advertisement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the lowest bidder meeting bid specifications for City Project 07-12 was found to be <br /> IBelair Excavating with a low bid for the combination of the Base Bid, Bid Alternate No. 2 and Bid <br /> Alternate No. 3 in the amount of $1,723,309.10. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of New Brighton: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br /> with Belair Excavating in the name of the City of New Brighton for City Project 07-12, <br /> Northwest Quadrant Phase 2 Demolition, Soil Correction and Environmental Remediation <br /> Improvements according to plans and specifications therefore approved by the Council and on <br /> file at the Office of the City Engineer. <br /> 2. Authorize payment for reimbursement in the amount of $51,902 for environmental work incurred <br /> on the west side of Old Highway 8. North Pine Aggregate, the City's contractor for Project 07-3, <br /> Old Highway 8 encountered petroleum impacted materials near the former Rose Oil site along <br /> the west side of the project area. This work is eligible for grant reimbursement. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits <br /> made with their bid except that the deposits of the successful low bidder and the next lowest <br /> bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> j 4.
