Fire' Limits The following shall be and is hereby <br />declared to be the fire limits area: Block laand Block 2. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Permits.. No wall, structure, building or' part there- <br />of, shall hereafter be built, enlarged, or altered, until a plan <br />of the proposed work shall have' been submit tedto the Chief of <br />the Fire Department, who .hall if in accordance with the pro- <br />visions he:t>ein con,tained, issue a permit for the proposed con- <br />struction,. Struotures hereafter erected without a permit, or <br />not in conformity with this ordinance shall be removed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Limitations Within Fire Limits No building or <br />structure of frame wall or of unprotected metal wall construc- <br />tion or which has a wooden cornice shall hereafter be erected <br />in the fire limits except the following: Buildings of frame <br />construction occupied exclusively as a private garage or stable, <br />not more than one story in height nor mere than three hwiired <br />square ,feet in area,. located on the/same lot with a dwelting; <br />_ frame. dwellings not. exceeding. two stories in height and separ- <br />ated by at least five feet fram lot line of adjoining proper- <br />ty. Buildings of ordinary (wood joist and masonry wall) con- <br />struct'on shall not exeeed fifty feet in height and 7,500 square <br />feet in area. <br /> <br />,it.. Walls ~e thickness of masonry bearing walla shall <br />not e.cless than twelve inches except that reinforced concrete <br />walls may ba va a minimum thickness of a inches. Parapets shall <br />be provided on all fire walls, party walls and exterior walls <br />of masonry or reinforced concrete. Such parapets shall not be <br />less than" twelve inches thick'for masonry and . 8 inches for re- <br />inforced concrete construction and carried not less than eight- <br />een inches above the .roof. <br /> <br />SECTION 6. Chimneys All chimneys shall be built of masonry not <br />less than four inches thick. Every such chimney shall be lined <br />with flue a lining and shall be built upon a solid masonry fouJi- <br />dation. . <br /> <br />SECTION 7. Removal or Repair of unkafe Buildings. A building <br />or structureor/port thereof declared. structurally unsafe or <br />hazardous by duly constituted authority, may be restored to <br />safTl condition; provided that if the damage or cost of restor- <br />. .tlotiand reconstruction is in excess of fity per cent of the <br />v$.lue of building or structUre, ,such building or structure, if <br />reco:natructedorrestored, shall be made to conform to the . re- <br />quirem.ents for buildings and structures contained inth1s ordin- <br />ance. <br /> <br />"I,., <br />
