I BRANCH POST OFFICE <br /> <br />II <br />i' WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton ("City") is a municipal corporation and subdivision <br />i of the State of Minnesota organized and operating under Minnesota law, and is authorized <br />by Minn. Stat. ~ 412.211, 9 465.01 and Ch. 469 to acquire real estate by exercising the <br />I power of eminent domain under and pursuant to Minn. Stat., Ch. 117; and <br /> <br />! WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Brighton is the official governing body of <br />il the City of New Brighton; and <br />!l <br />Ii WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. Ch. 469, the City has the authority to establish <br />I development districts and to create, undertake and complete development projects therein; <br />I and <br />I <br />I <br />! WHEREAS, the City Council established Development District No. 1 (the "'Development <br />I. District") on December 22, 1981, and thereafter enlarged it; and <br /> <br />I' WHEREAS, the real estate located at 1255 Old Highway 8 NW (hereinafter "Subject <br />I Property"), commonly known as the New Brighton Branch Post Office, is located within the <br />'I Development District and is among the parcels which may be acquired pursuant to the <br />II Development Program for the Development District; and <br /> <br />,I <br /> <br />j i WHEREAS, the City Council ftnds that redevelopment of the Subject Property pursuant to <br />II the provisions of the Development Program is necessary, convenient, desirable, for a public <br />I, purpose, in the best interests of the citizens of the City and would promote the general <br />! I health, welfare and safety of the community; and <br />I, <br />I! WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the community value to residents and business <br />II interests to maintain convenient access to a postal facility, <br /> <br />iI <br />ii NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New <br />! i Brighton, Minnesota that the City Council hereby supports the acquisition of the Subject <br />i!
