January 8, 2008- Page 4 <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates: <br />Reports Announcements arc <br />Updates. <br />Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter announced a substantial donation to the Santa Cop program along with the CPY program <br />was given from business owner Tom Bell. <br />The teambuilding retreat is planned for February 22 and 23. <br />Councilmember Doffing <br />Councilmember Doffing reported the planning commission did not meet in December. The annual <br />Firefighter Banquet was attended, and congratulations were extended to Firefighter of the Year; Jay <br />Frischmam. <br />Councilmember Phillips <br />Councilmember Bauman <br />January 30' is the next scheduled Public Safety Commission meeting. The Public Safety Department <br />had several promotions effective January Is. Fire Captain Scott Vaughn will be awarded the VFW <br />Firefighter of the year Gold Medal Award. The Santa Cop program was held ,at the Family Service, <br />Center December 10 , 147 children benefited. A Citizen Police Academy is scheduled for February <br />5, 2008. <br />Councilmember Burg <br />A Fitness and Wellness Fair is scheduled for January l2at the Family Service Center.The Planning <br />Commission and Parks, Recreational and Environmental meting will be a joint meeting Tuesday <br />January 15'' at 7:00 pm. <br />Mayor Larson <br />Mayor Larson served as a judge at Irondale Ihigh School's "Project Citizen" project. The Firefighters <br />event was attended, former New Brighton Fire Fighter Bill Chopskie was presented with a Life-saving <br />award. <br />Executive Session <br />Executive Session <br />1.
