January 22, 2008- Page 4 <br />Director of Public Works, Grant Wyffels explained this is the third and final radium removal project. <br />There were seven bids submitted, the lowest bid was $290,034, from EnConun Midwest. <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Burg to <br />accept the bid and award a contract for City project 08-3, Water Treatment Plant #5 Filter <br />Rehabilitation to the low bidder EnComm Midwest, Inc. in the amount of $290,034.00. <br />5 Ayes — 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Bonestroo presentation on the NWQ conceptual park plans. <br />Report No. 08-039.. Resolution No. 08-009. *This item was tabled. <br />4. Resolution extending Existing Corrunission Tends. <br />Report No. 08-040. Resolution No. 08-010. <br />City Manager Dean Lotter explained this resolution would allow staff and council adequate time to <br />review roles and responsibilities of commissions, <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Dolling to approve <br />Resolution No. 08-010 extending the terms of existing commissioners. <br />5 Ayes — 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements, and Updates: <br />Dean Lotter <br />Councilmember Doflin <br />Councilmember Doffing reported that a joint Planning Commission/Parks Recreation and <br />Environmental Commission meeting was held, where Bonestra outlined a proposed park plan for the <br />Northwest Quadrant. Also there was a Pubic Hearing related to "On the Run" car wash., where noise <br />issues were addressed The "Clifton House" had a presentation for the planning commission. <br />Councilmember Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips will be attending the Economic Development Commission meeting on <br />February 5� <br />Councilmember Bauman <br />The next Public Safety meeting will be held January 3dh. A burglary was reported. Residents were <br />directed to the City's website for more infonnation. Citizens Police Academy will be beginning <br />February 5. The City is recruiting paid on-call Fire Fighters. Fire Captain Scott Vaughn was honored <br />with an award presented by the VFW.
