Division 8 - Police Civil Service Commission <br />See. 2-140. Purpose. <br />(1) A Police Civil Service Commission will be appointed to assume the duties and responsibilities <br />of a police civil service commission as created by uncodified Ordinance No. 402, pursuant to the <br />terms and provisions of Minnesota Laws 1929, Ch 299 (Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 419 et seq., <br />as amended). <br />(2) The Commission shall consist of three members. <br />(3) At least one member of the Police Civil Service Commission shall also be a member of the <br />Public Safety Commission. <br />(4) The duties of the Commission shall include control and supervision over the employment, <br />promotion, discharge, and suspension of all officers. (Ord. No. 626, 2-11-97; Code of 200 1) <br />See. 2-141. Chairperson. <br />The chairperson of the Police Service Commission shall be a member in their third year of <br />Service on the Commission. The chairperson will be selected giving consideration to the criteria <br />of Section 2-63. (Ord. No. 610, 12-13-94; Code of 2001) <br />Sees. 2-142--2-149.
