Roll Call Present: Commissioners: Budzynski; Harreld; Meyer; Norton; Samuelson; Trevorrow; Council Liaison Mary Burg; Acting Director of Parks and Recreation Jason West; Office Assistant Jodelle Olson. Absent: Commissioners Frischman and Heinrich Also Present: Golf Course Manager Ken Manthis; Representative for T -Mobile Paul A. Harrington III. Minutes of February 6, 2008 MOTION BY CHAR SAMUELSON, SECONDED BY RON MEYER, TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 6, 2008 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. IV C� Correspondence Council Report — Council Member Burg Council Member Burg stated this will more than likely be her last time as liaison because the Council has been working on Commission appointments and made extensions to March. Council is reviewing the process of Commission appointments. The process gave an opportunity to correct and change obsolete information. It was a good exercise for staff. It should make the process more efficient. Appointments will be made by the end of the month. A new resolution will be presented to Council and at that time liaisons will be appointed to the different commissions. A. There was a Council & Staff retreat. We worked on goals for next year and beyond. We had a wonderful facilitator. A synopsis will be posted on the website when it is completed. Council member Burg stated she has enjoyed being with Commission over the past year, it is where her heart is. Discussion took place about the suggestion that the number of people on this Commission possibly be reduced. There was a suggestion from staff that this Commission be reduced to 7 members. Staff presented this to City Manager Lotter for discussion purposes. No decision has been made at this time. Commission members felt that because some Commission members were working on subcommittees (several Commission members also serve on the Trails Committee), there seems to be a need for at least 9 members. Another Commission member felt the current number of 9 was good. Some wondered if there is a conflict or reason for the suggestion of reducing the number of commissioners. Another member commented that with nine members, a good portion of the City is covered and there are also people with different backgrounds so the focus can be on different things.
