Jacobson, Director of Public <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to suDDlement this <br />Recommendation: <br />Approval of the amendment to grant contract 2007 -CCP -00659 with the Commissioner of Public <br />Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management changing the expiration <br />date to March 31, 2009. <br />Legislative History: <br />On 23 October 2007, Council approved a resolution authorizing the City to enter into this grant <br />• contract with an original expiration date of 30 June 2008. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The City is receiving $11,400.00 for training, equipment, and personnel costs associated with the <br />Department of Public Safety's existing Citizen Corps programs, including Neighborhood Watch, <br />Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS)/Fire Corps and Community Emergency Response Teams <br />(CERT). <br />Explanation: <br />The State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and <br />Emergency Management has extended the performance period for this grant until 31 March <br />2009.
