<br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> , <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2184 I <br /> , <br /> I <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA i <br /> COUNTY OF RM~SEY I <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ! <br /> i <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR I <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMIT, SP-85 i <br /> i <br /> , <br /> I <br /> \11 HER E AS, an application for a special use permit entitled I <br /> SP-85 has been made by Belair Builders, Inc. to permit signing <br /> at 441-5 8th Avenue N.W., and <br /> ! <br /> WHEREi\S, the procedural history of the application is as <br /> I <br /> follows: I <br /> l. That ah application for a special use permit SP-85 I <br /> was filed with the City of New Brighton on March 14, <br /> 1979. I <br /> 2 . That such application was reviewed by the New Brighton <br /> Planning Commission Board of Review on March 20, 1979. <br /> I <br /> 3. That the City Council, pursuant to published and mailed i <br /> notices, held a public hearing on April 10, 1979, all I <br /> person's present at the hearing were given an : <br /> opportunity to be heard. : <br /> 1 <br /> 4. The written comments and analysis of the City staff, I <br /> the Planning Commission minutes and recommendations I <br /> 1 <br /> were considered. I <br /> I <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Brighton City <br /> Council makes the following Findings of Fact in respect to I <br /> SP-85. <br /> l. The general purpose of the sign ordinance is to I <br /> promote sound identification, reduction of clutter I <br /> and aesthetic enhancement; I <br /> 2. That the building design and location create a I <br /> I <br /> situation where signing must be handled sensitively; I <br /> I <br /> 3. That wall signs would not be consistent with the I <br /> I <br /> general purposes of the sign ordinance; <br /> I <br /> 4. That a single ground sign as proposed would provide <br /> sound identification and would be compatible with <br /> I the general a rea. I <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-85 I <br /> is hereby recommended for approval subject to the following: I <br /> l. That no more than one ( 1 ) ground sign shall be <br /> I <br /> permitted on the property; I <br /> I <br /> 2. That the ground sign contain building name and <br /> tenant names only; I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> 3. That such ground sign shall not exceed sixty-four ( 64) I <br /> I <br /> square feet in area nor 20 feet in height, and shall i <br /> have a minimum setback of thirteen ( 1 3 ) feet, I <br /> four ((n inches from 8th Avenue N.W.; <br /> I <br /> I I <br /> ! <br />
