<br />-- <br /> '<- ,"'. <br /> ,. .. ~ <br />" .,. -. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 888 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> ;, <br />RESOLUTIONREQutSTING RAMSEY COUNTY TO INSTALL SEMAPHORES AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF SILVER LAKE ROAD AND 14TH STREET N.W. <br />WHEREAS there has re.sulted a significant increase in traffic <br />on Silver Lake Road as a result of the completion of I-694 and <br />the extension of Silver Lake Road north to Trunk Highway #10, and <br />WHEREAS present traffic flows on Sil~er Lake Road are <br />constant and heavy, and <br />WHEREAS there exists stacking of traffic on the I-694 exit <br />ramps, 14th Street N.W., and other points of access to Silver <br />Lake Road, and <br />WHEREAS there is a 13-acre commercial development now under <br />construction along Silver Lake Road and north of I-694 which will <br />further add to the traffic problem, and <br />WHEREAS there is a grade school and a Village park/Playground <br />along 14.th Street N. W. just east of Silver Lake Road and many <br />children have to cross Silver Lake Road to go to and from school <br />and the Village Park, and <br />WHEREAS the safety and convenience of traffic traveling on, <br />crossing, and dr.iving onto Silver Lake Road is of vital concern <br />to the New Brighton Village Council <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the New Brighton Village <br />Council hereby petitions the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />to make provision to have semaphore traffic control devices <br />installed at the intersection of 14th street N.W. and Silver Lake <br />Road at the earliest possible date. <br />Adopted by the New Brighton Village Council this 10th day of <br />November, 1970. <br /> ~ a~~ <br /> .
