RESOLUTION NO. 1182 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> RESOLUTION EXTENDING MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF SIGNS WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> WHEREAS the Council of the Village of New Brighton has reviewed <br /> the Community Betterment Task Fo~ce's report on sign regulations, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS the Council endorses the basic concept of the <br /> Community Betterment Task Force's recommendations, and <br /> WHEREAS the Council intends to adopt a new sign ordinance <br /> more restrictive than the one which presently exists, <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village <br /> of New Brighton that: <br /> 1. The Administration and Attorney are hereby directed to <br /> draft a sign ordinance in accordance with the basic <br /> concepts of the Community Betterment Task Force and <br /> the COllncil.directive to simplify the proposed <br /> regulations, <br /> 2. That in specific instances and upon special consideration <br /> by the Village Council an application for a sigp permit <br /> may be granted if it can be shown that it is clearly <br /> authorized by the ordinance and its authorization does <br /> not fall within an area of potential confusion, <br /> misinterpretation, or conflict of the ordinance as it is <br /> now written, i'f it is shown to the satisfaction of the <br /> Council that a hardship would exist if such permit were <br /> delayed. <br /> 3. That the moratorium on the issuance of sign permits be <br /> extended until May 8, 1973 or until the section of the <br /> zoning code relating to signs has been amended and <br /> corrected, whichever shall be first. <br /> Adopted this 13th day of February, 1973 <br /> ~ <br /> - <br /> ATTEST: 7ztb!b J~":/} <br /> :~e,:-~ - <br /> Thomas F.
