<br />I <br />~ <br /> - ofT 1 <br />. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1573 It <br /> STA~E' OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY' OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NKW,BRIGHTON <br /> 1;': <br /> RESOLUTION DECLARING A FLOOD EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> TRANSFER OF UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND RESERVES TO THE CIVIL <br /> DEFENSE FUND IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 TO FUND COSTS <br /> INCURRED CONTROLLING FLOODWATERS WITHIN THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> WHEREAS torrential rains have caused considerabl:e flood <br /> damage to public and private property within the City of New <br /> Br igh ton, and <br /> WHEREAS preventive action must be initiated to prevent <br /> further damage to such property <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF NEW BRIGHTON AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. A flood emergency is hereby declared; <br /> 2. '!'he Civil Defense Director shall take all actions <br /> necessary to alleviate further flood damage by <br /> providing sand, sandbags and such other equipment, <br /> material and assistance as is necessary to protect I <br /> property within the City both public and private; ! <br /> : <br /> I <br /> 3. After the flood waters have receded, the Director <br /> shall implement a cleanup program and render such <br /> assistance as is necessary to complete flood damage <br /> cleanup; <br /> 4. The maximum expenditures authorized to carry out , <br /> the directives included in this resolution shall be <br /> $25,000.00. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, '!'hat an amount not to exceed <br /> $25,000.00 be transferred from General Fund Unappropriated <br /> Reserves to the Civil Defense Fund to fund such expenditures, <br /> AND FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Manager and Clerk-Treasurer <br /> be and are hereby ordered and directed to effect such transfer <br /> at such time as total flood control expenditures are known. <br /> Adopted this 1st day of July, <br /> i <br />i I <br />i j <br /> -' <br /> . <br /> ATTEST: (~~ ?
