,
..
.r -,
" .
RESOLUTION NO. 1720
STATE OF MINNESOTA
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON
).! 1f
RESOLUTION MAKING A FINDING, OF FACT THAT A CAREER DEVELOPMENT
CENTER IS AN EDUCATIONAL BUILDING
WHEREAS application for master approval and building permit
approval was made by the'united Theological Sem;i..nary as required
by Special Use Permit 58 (Resolution 1466), and
WHEREAS the City Council finds it necessary to determine
whether a career development center in a separate building meets
the definition of an educational building as contained in Special
Use Permit 58 (Resolution 1466)
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the New Brighton City
Council makes the following findings of fact:
1. That Special Use Permit 58 (Resolution 1466)
2C2 defines educational buildings as follows:
"A structure not exceeding two stories in height and
containing classrooms, libraries, counseling
services, eating and cooking facilities, administrative
offices, and all indoor facilities necessary, usual
or incidental to education exclusive of housing. A
chapel may be placed in the area designated for
educational buildings and shall not be restricted to
two stories in height. II
2. That in the context of the entire Special Use Permit it
is clear that not all of the above uses must be placed
in the same building for such building to be defined as
educational.
3 That the intent of the Council in approving SP-58
(Resolution 1466) was that each use specified in the
definition of Education Buildings be separated from
other uses by the word "or" not the word "and".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Council hereby determines
that a freestanding career development center building meets the
definition of an educational building as found in SP-58
(Resolution 1466).
Adopted this 8th day of June, 1976
ATTEST:
./
.~=-: ei)Q,u h.
Vernon C.
