<br />. t <br />.' . <br />. .,. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1854 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br /> <br />EiESOLUTION SUPPORTING SENATE FILE 103 UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS the State of Minnesota is currently involved in a <br />severe energy shortage, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS a critical need for moderate income housing is pxojectE <br />for a least the next two decades, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS it is far less costly to encourage citizens to <br />upgrade existing housing than it is for government to attempt <br />to rennovate neighborhoods, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS IT is essential that the State stop discouraging <br />people from improving their own property <br /> <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of <br />New Brighton does hereby support the concept of Senate File 103 <br />that would put a moratorium on the taxing of home improvements <br />as long as the square footage living area is not increased, <br />the improvements are to bring the home to minimum building code <br />,requirements only and the property is assessed to its full <br />market value upon sale. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 22nd day of February, 1977 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />~./:: , -,' <br />";<< ~ <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST:.) /} <br />.'~.;t' ~,4 <br />,: ':/ j <br />/ j <br /> <br />V'/2?mt(~ ~#-;; <br />, .
