. II ~ I
If "'1'.
!: ~
l -2-
#
..*, II
II NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of New Brighton, That the following findings of fact I
I
are made in respect to R-95: I
a. That the area to be rezoned under R-95 is a small
, in-fill area bordered by medium density apartment
development, undeveloped land zoned for apartments
and commercial development, and Silver Lake Road,
a heavily travelled arterial street, and that
these conditions make the area appropriate for
commercial zoning.
b. That the apartment development to the north is I
screened from the site in question by its own
garages and that the medium density residential
area to the east can be easily screened because of
the extreme difference in topography between the
two areas.
c. The proposed rezoning does not significantly I
increase the amount of general business zoning
because it approximately equals the amount of
land rezoned from B-3, General Business, to
R-3B, Medium Density Residential, under rezoning
i application, R-96, which application was considered
by the Council in conjunction with R-95 as a
"trade" of areas zoned for general business in
order to more closely approximate the proposed
I comprehensive plan and sound land use planning.
I
I 24th April
, Adopted this day of 1978,
I
I I
I I
I
,
II
I ATTEST: I
I I
II I
II City Manager ~
Ij
I
I
,
I I
r
i (SEAL) I
II I
!!
II !
II
I
i
I
i
,
I
II I
i
I
