<br />" ~ <br /> ~ ,.. ~.. <br /> RESOLUTION N02078 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION <br />FOR SPECIAL USE PERMIT SP-81, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. <br />WHEREAS, an application for a special use permit SP-81 <br />has been made by Independent SchoOl District 621, to permit the <br />former New Brighton Elementary School, 701 8th Avenue NW., to be <br />used as a community resource center, and <br />WHEREAS the procedural history of the application is as <br />follows: <br />1. That an application for a special use permit SP-81 was <br /> filed with the City on June 15, 1978; <br />2. That the Planning Commission Board of Review heard and <br /> reviewed the applica tion at its meeting June 20, 1978; <br />3. That the City Council, pursuant to published and mailed <br /> notices, held a public hearing on July 25, 1978 to <br /> consider the application. All persons present at the <br /> public hearing were given an opportunity to be heard, <br />4. The written comments and analysis of the City Planner, <br /> the Planning Commission minutes and recQmendations and <br /> all person's statements made at the Board of Review <br /> meeting were considered. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />New Brighton that the following findings of fact are made in <br />respect to SP-81: <br />l. The property is zoned R-1 and the zoning code states <br /> that public and private service agencies may be <br /> permitted in an R-l district by a special use permit. <br />2. The proposed comprehensive plan states that in the <br /> event the school is closed alternative uses for <br /> consideration include a civic center and administrative <br /> offices. <br />3. That the building was designed and built for educational <br /> purposes and that the primary use of the building will <br /> remain to be for educational purposes. <br />4. That the proposed use as a Community Resource center <br /> is desirable for the public convenience and welfare. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-8l is and <br />hereby approved subject to the following conditions: <br />l. That the special use permit be reviewed by the City <br /> Council one (1) year after adoption of this resolution. <br />2. That in the event additional parking spaces are warrantej, <br /> the City Council may require the School District to in- <br /> stall the necessary spaces. <br />Adopted this 8th 1978. <br />
