...
r ,; , y
.,-" RESOLUTION NO. 2024
STATE OF MINNESOTA
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON
RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING VARIANCE
APPLICATION VN-183
WHEREAS, an application for a variance VN-183 has been
made by Harbon Montessori School and Mr. Harold W. Erks, to
permit the erection of a ground sign at 1000 Long Lake Road,
and
WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as
follows:
1. That an application for variance VN-183 was filed
with the City on February 13, 1978.
2. That the Board of Review heard and reviewed the
application at its meeting of February 21, 1978.
3. That the City Council, pursuant to published an9
mailed notices, held a public hearing on March 2:8,
1978, to consider the application. A 11 persons
present at the hearing were given an opportunity
to be heard.
4. The written comments and analysis of the City
Planner, the Planning Commission minutes and
recommendation, and all person's statements made
at the public hearing were considered.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of New Brighton that the following findings of fact are made
in respect to VN-183:
1. That practical difficulties and unnecessary hard-
ships would result were the Harbon Montessori
School not permitted a sign for identification
purposes.
2. That granting of the variance would be consistent
with the intent of the zoning code in providing
signing for institutions in an R-l district.
3. That granting of the variance does not consitiute
special privilege as under normal circumstances
the Harbon Montessori School would be permitted
to have an identification sign.
