Report Number 08-198 <br />9W <br />HIM <br />Agenda Section VI-3 IBAR)G <br />the city that works for you Council Meeting Date July 22, 2008 <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF PARTIAL PAYMENT 11 FOR PROJECT 07-3, <br />OLD HIGHWAY 8 NW RECONSTRUCTION <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report *rV,] Comments attached <br />Recommendation: To approve contract Partial Payment 11 in the amount of $215,247.21 for Project <br />07-3, Old Highway 8 NW Reconstruction to North Pine Aggregate, Inc. <br />Legislative History: Project 07-3 consists of the reconstruction of Old Highway 8 NW from I-694 to <br />the Long Lake Regional Park entrance. The City Council awarded a contract to North Pine Aggregate <br />on June 12, 2007. <br />Financial Impact: Please see attached payment breakdown for details. <br />Explanation: This payment includes street light work and the reduction of the payment retainage from <br />five percent to one percent. The Contractor has requested the reduction in the retainage for work <br />already completed and agrees to continue the five percent retainage for future work. No work has been <br />done north of the railroad tracks this year while waiting for the railroad property to be released to the <br />City.. Once the City has rights to the railroad property construction will continue. All work south of the <br />tracks that can be done has been completed with the exception of the irrigation system which is being <br />worked on now. <br />Costs and Funding: The construction portion of this project is being funded from a combination of <br />funding sources including a Mn/DOT grant, EPA grants, Municipal State Aid funds, Ramsey County <br />Cooperative Agreement funds, City Utility funds, and TIF Bond proceeds as outlined in the Feasibility <br />Report. <br />Grant M.
