Railroad Memo <br />March 20, 2008 <br />Page 3 <br />Under ideal circumstances, the wye and team tracks would be constructed as part of one project. There <br />are certain economies of scale related to grading and other improvements that would achieve cost <br />savings. In this case, in order to keep the railroad project on schedule it is necessary to break up the <br />project into separate components. As a result, there is an additional cost of $37,000 to perform this <br />work. This figure includes 208 feet of track, a turnout (i.e. switch) and some grading costs.
